Thank you for applying for one of the Outcast Dogs.

1. We do require that all dogs in the adoptive home are up to date on rabies, Bordetella and Distemper/parvo. all cats and dogs must be spayed or neutered unless there is a medical waiver from a veterinarian. We will verify this with your veterinarian. please do not apply if your animals are not updated or altered.

2. If you rent, please make sure you are able to have a dog and that there are no breed restrictions. We will verify this.

3. You must be 21 years of age to apply

4. You must live within 2 hours of the Lehigh valley, pa area. there are no exceptions. we will not process applications sent in from any other state besides pa and nj or that are outside of the radius.

5. Submitting an application does not guarantee an adoption. We have the right to refuse to adopt to any applicant if we do not feel a dog is a fit. there is a 3 part process. once the APPLICATION below is approved, a home visit will be set up. it is not until then a potential meet will be arranged if approved. we suggest you schedule your home visit as soon as possible after we contact you to set it up as to not lose your place in line should a dog of interest have multiple applications. We communicate mainly through email so please check your email often. we do not do ‘on the spot’ or ‘same day’ adoptions at the time of your meet. all family members, including dogs, living in the household must be present at the meet.

6. 2024 Adoption Fees. Dogs under 1 year old adoption fee is $500. dogs 1 year old to 8 year old are $450. Dogs over 8 are $375. All dogs will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption. We do pediatric spay/neuter so please do not ask for a delay. They will be updated on age appropriate vaccines to include dhpp, bordetella and rabies. all dogs will be microchipped.

Please understand we are a volunteer organization and a lot of time goes in the adoption process. if you are seeking a dog today or tomorrow we are not the ORGANIZATION for you. adopting takes a little bit of time so If you are not 100% sure you want to add an addition to your family please come back when you are ready. If you are rude to our staff or do not agree with our process we will not move forward with your application.

Approximately how much time and work do you believe the dog for which you are applying to adopt will require and has you family discussed the responsibilities?

Approximately how much do you believe the pet for which you are applying will cost each week, month, or year in terms of food, supplies, medical care, toys, bedding,ect.?

Are you willing, able and prepared to provide the full cost of the care for this dog, including routine and emergency medical care, food, grooming, toys, ect.?

What would you do if the dog needed medical care that you could not afford? (there is no right or wrong answer here; we simply want an idea of how you would handle one of the difficult situations that could present itself.)

Do you expect to be moving, local or otherwise in the near future? if so, will you be taking this dog with you?

What are you looking for in a dog? What characteristics appeal to you most -e.g., playful, protective, rugged?

Do you travel on business or vacation? if so, who will care for this dog while you are away from home?

Has anyone living in your home ever been convicted of a felony? Has anyone living in your home ever been accused of or convicted of animal neglect or abuse? if so, please set forth the details of that conviction. We do check!

Are there any circumstances or behaviors that would cause you to rehome a pet or take it to a shelter?

Do you have other requirements for the dog you adopt -e.g., good with cats, dogs, kids, crate trained, ect.?

Please keep in mind that we are a volunteer organization. Your application may take 48 to 72 hours to process. 2024 adoption fees are $500 for dogs under 1 year of age. and $450 for dogs 1 year to 8 years of age. Dogs over 8 are $375. A $100 deposit is required to hold any dog if an adoption is longer than 48 hours past approval. By placing my initials in the box below I agree that I have read and answered every question honestly.
